Travelodge Bristol Central is close to Harbourside in the 'Floating Harbour' with its gentrified old warehouses, turned into Restaurants, Bars, Casinos, Museums, Hotels and flats. Evening - Wetherspoon's of course, LLoyds No1 V Shed for their Curry evening which was both delicious and exellent value (free pint included !) LLoyds No1 V Shed packed with students and late-on very noisy. Friday - Getting to know the Floating Harbour day. Walk & Ferry to the Locks and then on to IKB's Clifton Suspension Bridge. Some climbed the Avon George to the Bridge. (Chris disappeared and was not seen again until evening !) Walk to The Cottage Inn. Then on to IKB's magnificent SS Great Britain. |
![]() ![]() Well earned pint at The Cottage Inn. |
![]() SS Great Britain setout to create as she was on the Atlantic runs on the 'Weather' (top) deck and as she was for her Australian runs on the other decks. Great illusion as she appears to be floating - but it is only 5mm of water!
