Travelodge Newmarket Road
about one mile East of Cambridge centre.had convieniently a restaurant for breakfast.

As usual Sunday evening saw us in a Wetherspoon's Pub - The Regal.
Things have changed ! Chris was seen to order food with a green content and Steve was drinking 0% Ghost Ship ( yes 0% !!).
A night cap at The Duke of Cambridge on the way back to the hotel.

Monday, We marched expectently to the Cambridge Computer Museum - It was closed.
Then along the banks of the River Cam towards the prearranged Punt Station. On the way we came across an achedemic group hauling out all the fish in the river to carry out a population census.
On reaching the Punt Station, it was closed due to the inclement weather.

Bikes everywhere - not always parked legally

A walk along Bridge Street to see all the Ancient University Buildings and a visit to The Patisserie - a coffee shop.
Then back to The Regal. Followed by a decent evening meal in The Corner House close to the Hotel.

Tuesday the weather had improved so back to the Punt Station. Roy had prebooked an hours' Punting experience along the Backs. A very pleasant experience punted by a knowledgable ex-student.There were many punts on the River and all seemed to have Chinese parties on board !.

We then met Colin who was down for the day and settled in The Pickerel.
Another visit to The Regal

There are masses of Chinese in Cambridge so there are lots of Chinese Restaurants, unfortunatly most seemed to be closed. However we found one at No 76 and were directed to the VIP suite. This restaurant produced for us the most magnificent authentic Chinese meal , the first such meal many of us had had in the UK
On the way back to the Hotel we dropped in to The Tram Depot a very busy pub.

Wednesday morning saw some of the group make a return visit to the now open Computer Museum , a trip down memory lane with working models.

All in all an exellent trip thanks to Roy.

Unfortunatly Stan had to back out of the trip a few days before for medical reasons.
