The Longboat Inn was conviently placed by the GWR train terminal and bus station.
It was a decent place but let down by the grumpy and disorganised staff. It had the worlds' slowest toaster and for some reason supplied no soap in the rooms.

A decent Evening Meal at The Longboat Inn. Steve had the old persons' meal and Chris had the same meal for younger folk at twice the price and it came with salad ( which Chris never eats ) so Steve had the salad !

Friday all took the bus through the industrial estate to Marazion.
The tide was out (and stayed like that all day ) walked the causway to St. Michael's Mount. The path is very rough and we wondered how the Queen managed it on a visit 3 years ago. Much discussion with the attendants as to where is the secret elevator, but they would not let on. However we did confuse them when asked what a Porringer was. ( It was in a display case.)

St. Michael's Mount on a warm and sunny day.

The roughly finished causeway to the mount was clear all day..

Evening to The Tremenheere Witherspoons (William de Tremenheere owned the St. Michael's Mount estate for 600 years.) Passing on the way a monument to Penzance's most famous son - Sir Humphry Davy.
Then had a ginormous Indian meal at The light of Bengal

Saturday, the group split up. Some walking to our old haunt, Mousehole in the rain, drenched they waked back ! Others went to St. Ives by a very slow bus (the first 3 miles took 45 mins.), condensation on the inside of the bus required to driver to keep stopping to wipe the windows.
Steve wa upset that Stan had a gadget he didn't, an umbrella with a torch, it wasn't working but being engineers we fixed it.
In St. Ives we all enjoyed the compulsory Cornish Pasty

After another visit to Witherspoons we had the evening meal at the rather charismatic pub the Dolphin Tavern.
The meal selected from the extensive menu was excellent.

                  * All in all a great weekend. *
