Clarendon Hotel, Deal (Kent) Clarendon Hotel simple but hearty meals, undrinkable 'Shephard Neame' beer. Excellent visit to Dover Castle. Duncs and some made it to the top of the high Norman Tower (and we were almost blown away by the gale,) Guided path through the labyrinth which were ' The secret wartime tunnels ' Some found the entrance fee to Canterbury Cathedral a little expensive and made off to Whitstable for a fish meal in 'Wee Willie Winkles' highly charismatic harbourside restaurant. On to Manston for the RAF museum and the Spitfire memorial. ( Spitfires were never based at Manston ! ) |
